Since 2015, I have been a member of the EpiCARE Neuropsychology Working Group, which aims to standardize and develop neuropsychological care for epilepsy patients within the framework of cooperation among EU member states.

Clinical activities and professional interests:
Neuropsychological assessments are conducted with internationally recognized, standardized measurement tools that enable the objective evaluation of the status of cognitive systems.

  • Neuropsychological assessment of cognitive functions (e.g., language/speech, memory, attention, etc.) and differential diagnosis of deficit symptoms in various neurological diseases: e.g. epilepsy, stroke, neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc.), developmental disorders (e.g., ADHD)
  • Assessment of general intellectual abilities (IQ) and competencies, objectification of cognitive complaints
  • Pre-surgical cognitive/neuropsychological risk assessment prior to planned brain surgeries to predict and prevent expected losses/gains, preparation of patients for surgery, psychoeducation for patients and relatives, postoperative follow-up, and rehabilitation planning
  • Development of paradigms for functional MRI examinations of memory and language functions, interpretation of test results
  • Cognitive function assessment during invasive procedures: e.g., monitoring of language and speech functions during awake brain surgeries, follow-up of cognitive effects of intracranial electrical stimulation, etc.
