Dr. Futó Claudia

She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of General Medicine at the University of Pécs in 2008. She has been a neurologist specialist** since 2017.

She began her residency and specialist training at Semmelweis University in 2008. Early in her neurological training at Uzsoki Street Hospital's Neurology Department, she actively participated in the interdisciplinary Multiple Sclerosis Center, gaining her first experience in clinical drug research.

From 2012, she continued her specialist training at the Neurology Department of Aarau Cantonal Hospital in Switzerland. As part of this — in line with her longstanding interest since university — she participated in the accredited peripheral neurophysiology training of the Swiss Clinical Neurophysiology Society (SGKN) at the hospital's Neuromuscular Outpatient Clinic. She mastered electromyography (EMG), neurography, and evoked potential testing methods, successfully passing the theoretical and practical EMG/ENG exam in 2015 (SGKN Emg-Zertifikats-Prüfung).

Since 2017, she has been working back in Hungary at the Neurological Division of the current Semmelweis University Department of Neurosurgery and Neurointervention (formerly OKITI, then OMIII). She participates in the neurological education of Hungarian and international medical students and residents.

Her main areas of interest are peripheral neuropathies, neuropathic pain, and borderline conditions involving peripheral neurological involvement, with a particular focus in recent years on their immunological aspects. She has been involved in peripheral nervous system neurophysiological examinations since her university years. During her inpatient work in recent years, she also contributed to developing diagnostic and treatment guidelines for central nervous system vasculitides. Her work is guided by a holistic approach and interdisciplinary collaboration.

She speaks German at a native level, English fluently, and French at a basic level.

She is a member of the German Neurological Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Neurologie).
