Dr. Koós Krisztina

Pediatrician, pediatric gastroenterologist. She completed her studies at the University of Szeged, Faculty of General Medicine. During her university years, she developed a strong interest in pediatric internal medicine, particularly the diagnosis and therapeutic approaches to inflammatory bowel diseases in children.

After graduating, she began her residency training at Semmelweis University’s 1st Department of Pediatrics (now the Bókay Street division), gaining experience across the full spectrum of pediatrics, with notable focus on neonatal surgery, congenital developmental disorders, pre- and postoperative care in children, and gastroenterology.

As a clinical physician, under the guidance of the late Professors Gábor Veres and László Szőnyi, she participated in the care of pediatric internal medicine and hepatology patients in all areas. During her career, she worked at the University Children’s Hospital in Freiburg in Professor Brandis’s gastroenterology research group. She subsequently received her German medical license (Approbationsurkunde).

In 2021, she published the book "Tejútvesztő," which primarily describes the diagnosis and home management of childhood cow’s milk protein allergy, aimed especially at parents, general pediatricians, and health visitors.

She places the child above all else. In providing care, her goal is to uncover and treat the root causes of illness rather than merely symptom management. Preventive thinking is an integral part of her work, as long-term health must be established during childhood. This principle has guided her entire professional career.

She communicates in German and English.
