Dr. Gábor Rudas, Director of the MRI Research Center at Semmelweis University since 2006, serves as the Head of the MRI Department at our clinic.
He graduated from Semmelweis University of Medicine in 1979 and began his medical career in Szombathely. From 1982 to 2001, he worked at the 2nd Department of Pediatrics at Semmelweis University, first as an assistant lecturer and later as an assistant professor.
Between 2001 and 2005, he served as Chief Physician of the Radiology Department at the Women’s and Children’s Clinic in Linz, and from 2005 to 2006, he held the same role at the St. Anna Children’s and Youth Health Center and Cancer Research Institute in Vienna.
He holds specialist qualifications in pediatrics, neonatology, radiology, and pediatric radiology.
His primary areas of expertise include neonatal and pediatric oncology, pediatric neuroradiology, as well as adult neuroradiology and gastrointestinal imaging.
He has completed extended study visits in the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria, and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Rudas has authored over 90 publications in both Hungarian and English and has delivered more than 500 presentations, several of which received awards for best presentation at prestigious national and international conferences. He is a member of the Hungarian Society of Radiologists, its Pediatric Radiology Section, and the Hungarian Society of Pediatricians. He actively supervises PhD and undergraduate research students (TDK) and is a frequent organizer or co-organizer of numerous national and international conferences and continuing medical education events.
